Is it possible to charge your computer battery on an airplane?

I am going to be taking a flight soon, and I would like to use my laptop computer on the plane. The flight will be long and I expect to be allowed to use electronic devises for an extended period of time, but I do not think my battery will hold out. Aside from purchasing a spare battery, is there a device that I can take on a plane that I can plug my computer into to regain its charge?

First, you need to purchase a power adapter that can power your laptop via an airplane outlet. Check out a company called iGo at http://www.igo.com. You can tell it what laptop you have, and they will recommend the right adapter for you. Usually the adapter that works on the airplane will also work in you car. The outlet in a plane looks just like the cigarette lighter style outlet in your car.

Next, check on the web site of the airline you are flying. There should be a place where they tell you which seats have electrical outlets. Make sure your seat is equipped with one of these.
